I worked with Matthew over the course of a few months. I had been struggling in the 660-680 practice score range through self study prior to working with him. After 2 months of targeted studying to improve quant and marginally improve verbal, I was testing in at 720-730 during practice tests. I ended up with a 700 on the real thing, a 70 point improvement on the real test, and was very pleased. My GMAT journey was a long one that started in 2016 and ended in 2021, with 4 years break in between. During 2020, I wanted to revisit GMAT and was looking for the best GMAT prep course to improve my score. My previous GMAT experience in a virtual classroom setting was not good and I realized my best bet would be to work in-person with a GMAT tutor to improve my score. After extensive research, I have come across Atlantic GMAT and Luciano Lapa. The journey since then has been a great one. My sessions with Luciano were really productive. He focused on the basic with me first, before moving on to more advanced concept within the test. The aspect that really helped me was his willingness to give me time to learn the concepts instead of rushing through them, unlike many GMAT prep companies. This really helped me to grasp the concepts and internalize them. The other big positive with Atlantic GMAT is its daily rigorous homework schedule customized for the individual student. This is, in my opinion, a game-changer. Luciano set up the homework in such a way that gave me opportunities to practice the concepts I learned in the sessions. Luciano also placed greater emphasis on the review process of the homework problems rather than on the number of problems to complete. Thus, the homework problems really helped me solidify the concepts in a meaningful way for the real test. The result of all these is my score improving by 220 points in a span of 8.5 months of studying. I am sincerely thankful to Atlantic GMAT and Luciano Lapa for helping me throughout this journey.

I became a client in April 2020 after not being able to raise my score much alone. Candidly I was a bit hesitant to invest so much but EVERY PENNY IS WORTH IT! To me the proprietary portal is what’s most beneficial but Luciano is super knowledgeable as well. In 2 months my score SKYROCKETED from subpar to competitive!

To anyone on the fence about investing in a private GMAT tutor, save yourself some time and reach out to Andrew and the Atlantic GMAT team. Off-the-shelf programs such as Manhattan Prep are great for brushing up on high school quant and establishing a content foundation, but if you're like me, you'll need an additional leg of prep focused on repeated practice under conditions similar to those of the exam. Atlantic GMAT was able to provide this, along with the coaching needed to raise my score by a whopping 220 points. I first contacted Andrew hours after finishing my first GMAT, an experience that left me staring in utter disbelief at the 490 (Q27, V31) on my computer screen. At that point, I had already invested hundreds of hours into my exam prep, working through all of the Manhattan Prep books and scoring 600, 680, and 720 on three OG CATs. I went into the exam center thinking I was ready, and left questioning whether I needed to look into the GRE or abandon my pursuit of an MBA altogether. If it weren’t for my discovering Atlantic GMAT at this critical juncture, it’s quite possible that I wouldn’t be sitting where I am today, safely on the other side of the exam. Within 24 hours of receiving my frantic initial inquiry, Andrew successfully talked me off the ledge. He pointed out that this one performance wasn’t indicative of my overall abilities, and began outlining a study plan to diagnose my starting point and shore up any lingering weak areas. As it turned out, these weak areas weren’t gaps in my content knowledge so much as inexperience bringing that knowledge to bear in crucial ways in a test environment…and it’s safe to say that I wouldn’t have made this self-diagnosis on my own. Andrew matched me up with Matt, who was an absolutely legend to work with from start to finish. On verbal, Matt recognized that I had a very strong content foundation, and pinpointed efficiency as my needle-mover for that section. I proceeded to work through hundreds of timed SC, RC, CR, and mixed verbal sets, and graduated from struggling to finish sections on time with a 40+ subscore to scoring a 51 on an official practice test. On quant, we sequentially tackled each content unit, focusing throughout on time management and problem solving shortcuts. In both sections, I believe that I owe a great deal of my improvement to the custom timed problem sets and video explanations that formed the backbone of my Atlantic GMAT curriculum. These invaluable resources far surpassed the quality of my Manhattan and OG guidebooks, and I would strongly recommend them for experiential and/or highly visual learners like myself. I ended up taking the GMAT 5 times, ultimately scoring a 710 (Q40, V47), a fantastic score for me personally (recall my starting point), and one that keeps my dream of attending a top 10 business school alive. Matt and Andrew routinely went above and beyond to make this score a reality––whether scheduling complimentary exam postgame reviews or giving me a much-needed pep talk when my confidence wavered. I could not have done it without them, and I will forever be grateful for their help.

I can't say enough positive things about my experience working with Andrew, Tom, Matt and the whole crew at Atlantic. I was able to improve my score by more than 200 points working with them -- all virtually. I think a large part of that owes to how sharp and how pleasant Andrew and his team are to work with. If you enjoy the process, it will be that much easier to put in the time and effort. Also, if there's anyone out there who is skeptical about how effective the virtual format is, I strongly encourage you to give Atlantic a try. Even pre-COVID, they had a strong virtual format and I think a lot of my success (the ability to schedule extra sessions quickly and with less friction) came from their virtual model. I can't think of anything negative about Atlantic, they are well worth the cost. If you are aiming for a top-tier score, I would hands-down recommend Atlantic as the best firm to get you there.

I highly recommend Atlantic GMAT if you are struggling with your GMAT prep. I spent a total of 9 months studying for the GMAT, but I am confident that I would have never reached my target score if it wasn’t for Matt, Andrew, and Atlantic GMAT’s test prep resources. During my first 3 months of studying for the GMAT, I utilized a combination of self-study prep as well as a “comprehensive” GMAT course from a popular third-party test prep service. Upon completion of the course, I knew I wasn’t prepared for the GMAT and would fall short of my target score. I was drawn to Atlantic GMAT due to their descriptive student debriefs found on Atlantic GMAT’s website. I found myself identifying with the experiences of previous Atlantic GMAT students and I was impressed by how much time the Atlantic GMAT tutors spent investing in their students. GMAT Atlantic seemed to take a more genuine approach, thriving off of the success of their students. I couldn’t have been more right. Andrew was candid with me from the start and laid out a plan for the amount of work (and the cost) that it would take for me to reach my GMAT goals. I then began meeting with Matt for weekly tutoring sessions. After each session, Matt would create a weekly HW plan and I cannot stress enough how valuable this was in my preparation. I needed to improve both my Quant and my Verbal scores and Matt was able to address both sections with me over the course of our sessions. I ended up taking the GMAT 4 times. My first three attempts were all far below my target score and my confidence certainly began to waver. However, Matt and Andrew believed I was capable of my target score based on how I had performed on official practice tests and Atlantic GMAT quizzes. By this point, I had been studying with Atlantic GMAT for nearly 6 months and I had worked through a significant amount of official GMAT and LSAT material. Long story short, if you are feeling stuck on the GMAT, work with Atlantic GMAT (especially Matt!) - they will help boost your score higher than you thought possible. After taking the Manhattan GMAT course and self-studying for about 4 months, I wasn't seeing my scores improve and felt extremely frustrated. A friend (who had also taken the Manhattan GMAT course) highly recommended Atlantic GMAT, as she had seen her score boost dramatically while working with them. To kick off my program, Matt and Andrew put together a thoughtful plan of action, which included 8 weeks of 1-hour tutoring sessions, daily assigned homework on their online quizzing portal, and recommended test dates. Matt is brilliant, yet so patient and kind. He works hard to understand why you are making the particular mistakes you're making (in both your strategy and problem-solving), and gives constant feedback on how to improve. He helped me improve steadily over the course of 5 tests, until I landed on a score that I am thrilled with and that will be an asset to getting into the top 10 business schools.

This review is for Luciano who tutored me for about 8 weeks for Verbal. Luciano is really great at teaching non-native speakers with verbal concepts and helped me understand the right way to approach questions instead of just teaching a bunch of rules. Understanding verbal and why certain rules apply has really helped to understand and break down complex problems on all - CR, SC and RC. Luciano is also highly professional, always on time and makes sure that your doubts are cleared. You can tell that he is teaching from the heart and not just doing a job - which is so motivational when you see your tutor putting in so much effort. I highly recommend Atlantic GMAT and Luciano.

At first, I was a bit skeptical of all the positive reviews of past Atlantic GMAT students - how can a GMAT tutoring company only have five star ratings and no negative review? Its very simple, these guys are the best in the business and genuinely care about their student's success. After about 3 months of self study via Magoosh, I sought out the help of a GMAT tutor to help me materially increase my score since self-study was not working. Andrew and Luciano laid out a detailed plan of attack on our initial phone calls and helped come up with a highly structured and efficient hw study schedule. After a short 3 months, I had increased my score by 100+ but was a long way away from my goal. Along the way, I had major exam-day setbacks but Luciano always kept me on track and focused. The hw schedule was always easy to follow, customized to focus on my weak areas, and filled with lots of review. Not only did Luciano enhance my GMAT knowledge, he helped me approach each question as efficient as possible and actually made GMAT quant fun! Long-story short (due to COVID-19)... Luciano worked with me relentlessly increase my score by nearly 200 points. I highly recommend anyone looking for personal tutoring to reach out to the Atlantic GMAT team (specially Luciano).

Atlantic is the real deal. I didn't think I could get my quant score up, but decided I'd give them a shot and worked with Atlantic for quant intensive review. Over the course of a few months, I was able to raise my quant score up from a 41 to a 48. I worked with Tom, who was a delight and pushed me while also building my confidence. The problem-sets were awesome and the online portal was very easy to use. I daresay I actually had fun on GMAT math working with Tom. Luckily, I won't be taking the GMAT again since I got my dream score, but if I did, I'd be headed back to Atlantic!

I could not recommend Atlantic GMAT and Luciano enough. I worked with Luciano last summer and he helped me increase my score by >100 points in three months. Feeling the pressure of balancing my job, writing application essays, and still not having a target GMAT score for the schools I was applying to after trying to study on my own throughout the spring, I sought help from Atlantic GMAT in early June. Andrew and Luciano created a study plan for me with the goal of improving my score before Round 1 deadlines in September. The study plan was very easy to follow with daily homework assignments in the portal followed by careful review based on solution/explanations (several in video format) crafted by the team and two hours a week of private tutoring to learn new concepts (would note that we didn't waste tutoring time to go over the homework unless I had a question that needed further clarification - session time was really focused on learning new topics and doing questions with Luciano before he assigned me practice problem sets for homework). This program is not aimed at providing gimmicky test strategy, it provides the coaching and resources to actually help you master content and it does require significant discipline, commitment and hardwork from the part of the student. As others have noted, the program is very expensive (albeit very comparable pricing to other programs), but I personally saw tremendous results by following it to a tee and it has already paid dividends as I was accepted into my dream school (would probably not have been possible without Atlantic as the GMAT was the part of my application that I struggled most). For those of you who are concerned with online tutoring, I admit that I was too initially, but I found the system very effective and efficient given Luciano shared his screen and made notes as we went through the lesson and I didn't have to waste time commuting around NYC. I really appreciate all the help and patience from Luciano throughout my GMAT journey and am excited to recommend the program to others that are looking to improve their scores fast!

I cannot recommend Atlantic GMAT enough. I am a self-studier and at first thought a tutor would not help me / that I just needed to grind it out. He breaks down the components of learning critical reasoning into a very digestible format, and his materials are more difficult or on par with difficult GMAT questions. My experience with the team at Atlantic GMAT, especially Gunnar, was phenomenal! Andrew and Gunnar created a specialized study plan that helped me stay organized and accountable while working full-time. I had taken the GMAT 10 years ago for business school and now needed to re-take the exam for additional studies. After taking the practice test, it was evident that I needed more than just a refresher, and it had to be in a very compressed time line. I searched for tutors that would offer a customized plan and landed on Atlantic GMAT. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. Atlantic GMAT helped to immediately identify strengths and weaknesses, designing a plan to build on strengths and mitigate weaker areas. Both the preparation strategies and exam strategies were amazing. As they projected, the test scores got worse before getting better, largely due to assimilating new information and approaches. Perseverance paid dividends, as I achieved my targeted score after 3 months which is, frankly, a very tight time line, and I would recommend allowing a bit more time. This does, however, speak volumes about Atlantic GMAT. Luciano was instrumental in keeping the preparation focused and targeted while I maintained a full-time job. Luciano continually adapted the schedule based on my performance. The private sessions with Luciano were incredibly effective, as we honed in on trouble spots. Luciano was quick to respond to emails and questions outside of the sessions, and I felt he was personally committed to my success. Unlike the standard classes or tutors, Atlantic GMAT balances its foundational approach with the unique needs of the individual. I give Atlantic GMAT my highest recommendation. While you will pay more for these services, the value you extract is well worth the cost. I would not even think about going to a GMAT class after this experience. I worked with Luciano , by far the best experience and worth the money . Besides teaching me tools and tricks for the GMAT. He gave me advice on how to deal with performance anxiety . He was very patient with me ,( by the way I’m not an easy person to work with ) this isn’t a GMAT prep where If you miss a week or two you just keep moving on. If you don’t keep up with the work they will drop you and refund the remaining sessions back . I haven’t heard any other GMAT prep do that, it’s well worth the money and you learn a lot for the GMAT . The best part is I did not have to think about my day-to-day schedule with my studying. It’s custom-made for you and you can always email your tutor. Luciano would email within a day, sometimes hours..

Andrew is a fantastic tutor. He was recommended to me by a friend of mine who also had a lot of success with Atlantic GMAT. My tutoring sessions were online because I do not live in NY. The interface worked really well and I did not feel that I missed anything by not being able to meet in person. The lessons were well organized and the study schedule he drafted for me was thorough and reinforced the techniques we covered in class. In addition to covering a lot of content, Andrew taught me how to organize my approach to the tough questions so that they were no longer intimidating. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I worked with Luciano to improve my score from a 690 to a 740. I was on a very tight timeline and he was able to put forth an effective study plan for me. He is excellent at explaining grammatical concepts in plain English and pointing out where the test tries to trick you. Overall I highly recommend Luciano. Atlantic GMAT has their own website with an extensive list of practice problems and video explanations which are very helpful for self studying. The only negative feedback is this website is a bit dated and does not store your answers so you have to screenshot and self track what you get wrong if you want to review at a later date.

Andrew is an awesome tutor in every sense of the word; brutally honest, smart and hard-working. I hired Andrew to help me improve my score to get to the 680+ level. Prior to tutoring my score was hovering in the low 600s. With the help of Andrew I was able to boost my score by 80 points and get past the 680 level. Andrew explained complex things in the most simple and intuitive manner. He also designed me a GMAT study/practice schedule which was tailored to my needs. What was different about Andrew from other tutors was the simplistic approach to the GMAT content, his excellent grasp of the material and the honest feedback. Working with Luciano and Atlantic GMAT was a great experience. I started at Atlantic after spending time tutoring with a different independent tutor service. AtlanticGMAT was far better than my previous experience as it felt much more personalized. They take a very targeted and student catered approach and know the material of the test very well. AtlanticGMAT also covered very specific tactics on how to approach problems and were very pleasant to correspond with as a whole.

Andrew is the best GMAT Tutor on the street. He had a lot of patience with me, believed I could do it and was always willing to push me to learn. Unlike other tutors, in addition to weekly lessons, Andrew also holds weekly Q&A sessions for all his students, so not only are you getting your weekly class but also a weekly opportunity to review any questions you have. I think what makes Andrew great is that he dominates the test inside out and he makes sure to break everything down into simple and easy steps for all his students. By understanding the process, you end up understanding the strategies better and actually succeeding. He demands a lot of each student, but by following his lessons, you do end up mastering the content very well because he uses more advanced material for his sessions. Andrew is also extremely responsive, always willing to help and has a great sense of humor. It also helped that he offered me chocolate during his classes!! I very much enjoyed my lessons with Andrew. He is a professional and does his job extremely well. I feel proud to have met him and to have had him by my side throughout this GMAT journey.

If you're looking for a GMAT tutor, I would definitely recommend Atlantic GMAT. The one-on-one sessions and daily calendar plan are tailored to your needs. I was a student who had taken the GMAT prior to signing up for tutoring with Atlantic GMAT, and I needed attention in specific areas. When I started working with Luciano, he structured the lessons and homeworks to focus on the Verbal section first. During the sessions we attacked challenging practice problems and reviewed strategies (many of which I had not seen before). Once my Verbal scores had consistently improved, then Luciano layered in Quant problems and strategies to ensure that I could perform well on both sections. Overall, I had a great experience working with Luciano. He is very well organized and always upbeat. The tips, tricks, and strategies I learned during my weeks of studying with Atlantic GMAT were paramount to my success on the GMAT.

I worked with Matt Abuzalaf and raised my GMAT score from a 670 to a 720 in just about three months. Matt was extremely positive and encouraging when I needed an extra boost, and his knowledge of quant topics is masterful, which is exactly what I needed to boost my score. Except that Andrew is a professional teacher, whom I recommend without any hesitation, he is a great person, who really cares about the students, people and things around. Our challenging journey was around one year, there were several attempts (because of the verbal part) that brought me to the targeted verbal score. I hired a tutor because I had attempted the GMAT twice with sub-700 scores and long work hours were certainly getting in the way. Andrew was recommended to me by a friend who had also successfully beaten the GMAT after Andrew's tutoring. The detailed schedule that Andrew builds out is extremely helpful and works to drill concepts from the previous weeks lesson. His approach to solving quant and verbal questions as well as the test in general is superior to any technical learning from other classes or books, in my opinion. It combines knowledge and concepts along with strategic thinking (this part is important in my opinion and hard to explain but key to getting a top score) that allows for short-cuts, effective guessing when necessary, and completing the test on time being thorough with what you know. Andrew is very organized and as I mentioned, having each day's assignments laid out along with all of the material available is extremely helpful when you don't have the time to be planning out and analyzing what your weak areas are and where you need to dedicate time. After 6 sessions and ~2.5 months of studying I got a score >750 (I do not guarantee that would be someone else's result). I would definitely recommend Andrew if you are looking for a top GMAT tutor, definitely worth the money!

I sought out Andrew because I was applying to a bunch of fancy schools, and was trying to push my quantitative score up to match my verbal score. I was hoping that working with Andrew would help me study more efficiently, and would also keep me honest. What a good decision! The best thing about Andrew's style is his impressive balance of intense organization and generally relaxed attitude. For me, a big part of learning the material was systematic, regular practice, and a big part of succeeding on the test was chilling out a little bit. Andrew handles both. He's great at breaking down tricky concepts into simple, methodical steps, and was really great at making sure I practiced all and only the stuff that was hard for me. He's also the most responsive person and his level of professionalism made me question whether it's the MBA or the GMAT score that qualifies someone to run a business. Hiring a private tutor is a pretty significant financial investment and I can't really speak to whether it's a good investment for everyone. It was for me. Over the course of about 12 hours of Skype sessions, I improved my score from a 700 (40Q 46V) on my first practice test, to a 780 on the real deal (50Q 51V) (past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results, etc.).

I sought out this company on advice from a friend. Although at first intimidated by the hourly prices, Andrew let me know the other tutor, Luciano, had a lower hourly rate. Andrew is based in New York and Luciano is based in Canada, but working with Luciano online is very easy. Luciano is really organized and knows his stuff. He also has tips and test strategies for you, aside from just content. I had taken Manhattan GMAT in person classes before, and although they were a helpful grounding, it's aimed to the masses, which means they teach you to get a good score, but not great. Getting to a great, competitive score, is what a tutor can help you with. But you still need to do the work! Consistent daily studying, and carving out QUALITY studying, is crucial. I had just about one month to kick up my test score, by at least 40 points. My score had stalled in the mid-600's and I didn't know what else to do. I also wasn't really holding myself accountable to myself, in terms of consistent quality studying, and having a tutor was really helpful in forcing me to stay accountable to another person. Plus, I was willing to take the plunge (and the cost) to improve my score. Both Luciano and Andrew are really busy so finding a tutoring time slot is tough! Definitely give yourself enough time to work with the tutor; don't be like me and give yourself only a month. Honestly, 2-3 months of real devoted weekly sessions will do wonders for your score. I can't put into words how great Andrew is. After studying for the GMAT on and off for over five years and wasting a ton of money on Manhattan GMAT in person classes, Empower online classes, and countless books, I decided that I needed to buckle down and hire a personal one-on-one tutor. Andrew got me on track and held me accountable. He structured a schedule for me and met with me once a week via video conference. I credit him for getting my studying done in two and half months; without him, I would have continued to be really inefficient. I ended up with a 720 and got into Wharton! Thanks Andrew!

I reached out to Andrew at a point where i felt i had hit a wall. I had a month left before the deadline to my dream school and i was hoping to jump 110 points, after having failed to hit a 700+ score repeatedly. Andrew found time in his schedule almost immediately andhis sessions made me feel incredibly confident about the content. His calm demeanour during 1 on 1 sessions as well as his unique approach to solving daunting questions made the GMAT seem much more like any other test. Andrew is meticulous in his organization of content and his excel sheet planner worked for me very well as it taught me how to efficiently manage my time goal after coming home from work everyday. Unlike any other tutor / service I had used, Andrew gave me constructive feedback and support through the process which was important for me as the test had mentally defeated me much before I turned to him. For me, the learning the material was never an issue, but managing time and controlling my nerves was certainly was. Andrew scheduled timed sections for me to attack every night and within 15 days, I had learned to finish sections without looking at a clock! It is important to note that I got my 700+ score and was also recently admitted to my dream school. I still recall calling Andrew frantically day before the exam and having him repeatedly walk me through everything i knew and what i needed to do to beat the test. From LSAT practice work to rapid fire math questions, we had reviewed everything in less than 30 days. Safe to say, Atlantic GMAT was a lifesaver and hands down the best decision I could have made! I could not recommend Andrew more - the guy is a total rockstar tutor.

Success after long struggle. I was really struggling with the GMAT but I eventually rocked it. I had done a GMAT course but it didn't really work for me. Some of the stuff was too easy and some if it we went over way too quickly for me to get a thorough understanding of the subject. My instructor was nice but ultimately the class didn't work for me. I found Andrew through an acquaintance and just gave him a call to see what he was all about. From the very beginning he seemed to really know what he was talking about. He asked me about all of my previous GMAT studying (and standardized test experience), my specific strengths and weaknesses, and my goals. All of the feedback that I got from him made me feel that he really understood what I needed in my GMAT preparation. Private tutoring really helped me push my GMAT score to the next level because: 1. Everything we talked about was centered around what I needed to learn. 2. Andrew made me a schedule so that I didn't really have to think about what to study. 3. I felt really guilty if I didn't get my homework done. Or to put this in a better way: I felt responsible for getting my work done because Andrew made it really clear what I needed to do. He also checked in on my homework via a google document that we shared that had all of my homeward assignments. This really kept me from slacking. Yes I worked really hard and it took 4 exhausting months to get where I wanted to be. But I can't stress enough that Andrew supported me the whole way and his approach to teaching is not only well informed and professional but enjoyable. Luckily this second time around I was able to reach my score goal: 700!!!!!
