GMAT Study Schedule Week 9 (if you are just starting out you might look at the intro to the GMAT Study Schedule)

Two solid months of GMAT preparation are behind us but let’s not pop the Dom Perignon quite yet. This is the time to hunker down and redouble your efforts. This is the time to re-focus. To re-calibrate. To wake up again and remind yourself why you are doing all of this studying:  to fulfill your MBA goals.

Week 9 and 10 are critical. These are the last two weeks of heavy studying. This is the time to push your GMAT limits. This is the time to shake all the demons out. This is the time to sort out any lingering GMAT weaknesses (this would be a great time to take another tour through the GMAT Question of the Day and GMAT Sample Questions archive in order to see a wide variety of GMAT topics along with the strategies to conquer those topics). This is the time to hit your stride and start scoring within spitting distance of your goals. In GMAT tutoring this is the time when you have covered most of the major topics and really start to feel that you know something about this exam. At the end of this week we’ll be taking GMAT Prep Exam Pack 3. Yep, that’s right:  let’s start making it count!

You will probably still have a lot of questions to review form the GMAT Club tests – let’s try to get that review done as soon as you can after you complete a section. Remember that it is good policy to confirm your right answers, especially in DS, along with re-working your mistakes. It helps to re-do your mistakes without looking at the solutions. See if you can solve them the 2nd time around while you don’t have any time pressure. If not – no big deal. Follow the solution. Make sure to put those questions in your error log so that you can resolve them a couple of days down the road. Checking those items off the list right?

Study Schedule Week 9 Verbal

Are you finding GMAT Reading Comprehension passages rather boring? You are not alone. Many people have a tough time staying engaged while reading something that just doesn’t appeal to them. My GMAT tutoring students find that really engaging with the material helps them understand the material better. Care about what you read! Involve yourself emotionally. Let the passages affect you. Theoretical wormholes collapsing into non-existence not your favorite thing? That’s understandable but just remind yourself that Harvard is waiting for you. This week we’ll be working from new practice material: the GMAT Verbal Question Bank. This is a word document with all the questions from the GMAT Prep question bank. You can find these documents on GMAT Club.
